Techen Splint and Cast Device
TechEn has received a patent for a medical device that facilitates the forming of splints and casts. The medical device was developed for Massachusetts General Hospital and is used throughout the hospital. The primary advantages are that electrical heat allows for safe, antiseptic use at patient bedside, without the need for very hot water. The device is used for hand, arm and leg casts. Shown above is the portable system using materials including J&J’s Orthoplas material.
