TechEn Transitions to a Smaller Office, Partners With GiveBetter to Donate Furnishings

After more than a decade at our expanded facility on Cedar Street in Milford, TechEn is transitioning to a smaller, more focused workspace. As our team has evolved and the way we work has changed, a leaner footprint simply makes more sense.

What’s Changing

The engineering work stays the same — we’re still the same team delivering the electronic product design and development our clients depend on. What’s changing is the space around us. With flexible work arrangements and a more streamlined operation, we no longer need the square footage we once did.

Giving Our Office a Second Life With GiveBetter

Moving out of a larger office means figuring out what to do with years’ worth of furniture, equipment, and supplies. Rather than send it all to a dumpster, we’ve partnered with GiveBetter to make sure these items do some good.

GiveBetter picks up donated items, resells them, and directs the proceeds to vetted local nonprofits chosen by the donor. What sets them apart is the transparency — donors choose exactly which cause benefits and can track the impact of their contribution. Every donation comes with a tax-deductible receipt.

For us, it was an easy decision. Office desks, chairs, shelving, electronics, and other furnishings that served us well for years can now support organizations doing meaningful work in their communities.

Why This Matters to Us

TechEn has always been about building things that matter — medical devices that save lives, consumer products that improve daily routines, industrial tools that make work safer and more productive. That philosophy doesn’t stop at the products we design. When we had the chance to keep usable goods out of a landfill and direct their value toward nonprofits, it was the obvious choice.

Looking Ahead

This move is about focus, not contraction. Over 40 years and 600-plus projects, TechEn has adapted to every shift in technology and business. This is simply the next step — a workspace that fits how we work today, with the same commitment to our clients and the same senior engineering team that has always been our foundation.

If you’re a company facing a similar transition, we’d encourage you to check out GiveBetter. It’s a straightforward way to turn a logistical headache into something positive.
